Alleged Confession Surfaces Online for the Murder of Kenneka Jenkins!
The body of 19-year-old Kenneka Jenkins was found in the walk-in freezer of the kitchen at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois on Sunday, September 10th.
The murder of Kenneka Jenkins, a Chicago teen who went missing and was then found dead , has gone viral as her family demands answers about her mysterious death.
Last Saturday, Jenkins, 19, told her mother Tereasa Martin she was going to catch a show and then bowling. This would be the last time Martin would hear from her daughter. Instead Jenkins went to a party where there were at least two young men in attendance as well as three young women all who appear to be smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol.
The three young women would later contact Martin at approximately 4 a.m. stating that Jenkins was missing. The women claimed after not being able to locate Jenkins, they decided to leave the hotel in the car Martin loaned her daughter for the night with the victim’s keys and cellphone in tow.
Martin said she questioned her daughter’s friends’ accounts, however, noting their “stories changed over and over.” Well, it looks like Martin isn’t the only one questioning the validity of the girls’ stories and ever since Jenkins’ death, internet users have been all over the case as many feel the police did not, and have not handled the case the way it should be.
The attention of social media surrounding the tragedy has everyone trying to determine if there is foul play concerning this open investigation.
Jenkins approached hotel staff about viewing the surveillance tapes to help locate her missing daughter, but was turned away for not first obtaining a missing person’s report. When Jenkins returned with one, she was told she would still not be able to view the tapes without the police department present. Upon a THIRD visit and the police searching for 11 hours, Jenkins’ body was located inside of the hotel’s walk-in freezer in its kitchen.
“If they had taken me seriously and checked right away, they could have found my daughter much sooner and she might have been alive,” said Martin.
The police told Martin her daughter was intoxicated and wandered into the walk-in freezer where she fell asleep. See news footage of Martin’s interview with a Chicago Tribune Reporter:
A facebook live video that filmed the whole party has lead millions to believe that Kenneka Jenkins’ murder was more than just a drunken accident. In the video recorded by a female friend, there is a quick glimpse of Jenkins laying beside her. A few moments later another girl in the video –believed to be Monifah Shelton a close friend of Jenkins — can be heard saying: “he said $200, I read that [as] clear as day.”
It is believed that two men wanted to have sex with Shelton and Jenkins, however, when Jenkins would not cooperate, Shelton accepted $200 from the would-be rapist so he could have his way with Jenkins. See the party video and screenshots below:
